We Use Invisalign® for Underbite and Crowded Teeth

Invisalign for Underbite and Crowded TeethUsing Invisalign for underbite and crowded teeth has become a growing trend as more of our patients discover that solving these issues is the best way to regain a truly beautiful smile. For many of our patients, Invisalign® has become a revolutionary solution that can help them deal with their underbite issues, as well as the problems with crowded teeth. Smiles are incredibly important, meaning that they should not be marred by fixable problems. Fortunately, they do not need to be.

Why is a smile important? In today world, the smile has become one of the most important, and widely used, facial expressions. In an effort to find out why a smile is so important, a study was conducted that found that 53% of people tend to notice a smile before anything else. This means that within that 15 seconds, which is what it takes for a person to form a first impression, the smile is the most dominant thing that they notice. It also means that many of their first impressions are formed within those few seconds and influenced greatly by the smile. Unfortunately, we have found that not enough people are confident in their smile, often influenced by underbite or crowded teeth. In fact, nearly 52% of people stated that they would like to smile more if only they had better-looking teeth. These feelings are leading people to use Invisalign for underbite and crowded teeth in record number. When you also consider that 89% of people openly admit that a smile makes someone more attractive, there is no reason why you should allow issues like an underbite or even crowded teeth to hamper your ability to shine in a social situation.

Why use Invisalign for underbite and crowded teeth?

The most important thing to remember about Invisalign®, if you are considering using Invisalign® for underbite and crowded teeth, is that Invisalign® is not a one size fits all solution. Instead Invisalign® is the most customized way possible to straighten your teeth, correct that underbite issue, and ensure that your teeth are correctly spaced. The Invisalign® treatment is completed using an exact plan to ensure that your teeth respond within a customized set of parameters. On that first visit, we will be taking very detailed measurements and imprints of your teeth. This allows us to capture every nuance of your mouth for the laboratory. During this visit, we will timeline out exactly what you want to accomplish concerning spacing and fixing your underbite, and create a detailed plan that will also go to the lab. The lab will then use the measurements and imprint to create your first set of custom aligners. No two patients have the exact same aligners. Every two weeks, based on your plan, you will switch out your current aligners for new ones that will also be worn for approximately two weeks.  Once done, your teeth will be straight and beautiful.  As a bonus, while you are wearing your aligners you will begin to see steady improvements to how you appear.
